5 Tips For Applying Lipliner

Did you know that if you apply lip liner before your lipstick or lip gloss it can help your colour from bleeding. It is perfect for those of you who love wearing dark lipstick colours.

Hands up, who has lip liners in their makeup bag but never uses them because they aren’t sure how? We get it, it can be tricky figuring out when to apply it, what angle to hold the pencil or whether to use a pencil or liquid liner. Let’s not even get started on picking the right colour liner to match your lipstick.

The good news it doesn’t have to be that complicated at all. In fact adding lipliner to your makeup regime can make all the different to your over all look.

Our team has put together some easy tips and tricks to make applying lip liner easier.

πŸ’„ Apply lipstick first, and then add liner.  Applying lipstick first makes it easier to outline because you can see exactly where the lip liner needs to go. When your lipstick starts to fade, the lip liner will fade with it.

πŸ’„ Work at a 45-degree angle. Hold your lip liner at 45-degree angles when you apply it to your lips with short, light strokes. If the line is harsh, your lips won’t look that great when your lipstick wears off.

πŸ’„ Don’t sharpen too much. If the tip of your liner isn’t too sharp, it won’t create a harsh line and it will blend in a little with your lipstick.

πŸ’„ Nude also creates a plump illusion. If you use a nude shade of lip liner right on the border of your lips, it will create an illusion of a fuller lip.

πŸ’„ Apply small strokes. Applying small strokes makes it easier to apply a smooth line around the border of your lips.

Don’t be discouraged if you don’t get it right the first time. Practice makes perfect, so keep trying using our tips and you will have the perfect set of lips in no time.
