Description of your key services/business offering:

  • My first service that got me into the beauty and Styling world was Scarf Styling, I do help ladies to wear their scarf fashionably for weddings and special occasions, sometimes conferences and business meetings. what triggered me to start offering this service is that I wanted to help Muslim ladies to have confidence being under the spotlight. There is unfortunately no schools that teaches this art. I am a self-taught stylist. That is why I also offer Scarf Styling courses.
  • Makeup Application, for weddings and Special occasions. Also, Makeup courses.
  • Hair Styling; I do all type of Hair services; Up styles, Highlights, Cut, Colour, Brazilian, blow-dry & Curling
  • Skin Care: express and Deep Cleans Facials, Peels, Targeted solutions for anti-aging, pigmentation, acne, scars, dark circles, dark Marks, puffy eyebags.
  • Image Consulting, I do help customers to identify their body shape and accordingly knowing what fashion style suits them. Within this service I pay the customer a home visit to analyse their wardrobe, to discover what pieces of clothes that they already bought suit their body figure. Then I give recommendation on how to build their wardrobe with basic or advanced pieces of clothes based on their budget. Next we do a shopping trip to get the customer few pieces of clothes according to the above analysis’s. I give the customer a new hair style and a Makeup application (with a Makeup lesson) and that’s when we can see the new look.

What has been your biggest challenge during the Corona crisis?

Due to social distancing, no weddings were allowed. so basically, no bookings until the wedding season is back. Plus most of individuals suffered retrenchments and salary cuts and accordingly their financial situations were badly affected. For this reason, customers tend to only seek Zero to minimum services.

What have you done to overcome these challenges?

Well, social media is the way to go. I have always been playing on Facebook but I never thought I will be able to make money there; I had an incredible Skin care Range that have won several global awards as an at-home beauty technology. I was so fortunate to be able to promote for it online and the product itself was designed to be used in-salon and at home.

What is ONE piece of makeup advice you have for people during this time?

Don’t put all your eggs in one basket! That was what saved me. Try to find something on the side just like I did. If you did not then at least be present on social media, try to post some of your work so that people do not forget about you. Also consider collaborations and competitions to increase your followers on social media.

What is your go-to makeup product (the one you are never without)?

Eyeliner!! I love the Rimmelle gel eyeliner pen for everyday use. And I use the M.A.C gel liner for special occasions

Who is your favourite celebrity makeup artist?

I am fond of Rushana Issacs from Cape town, Huda Qattan from Huda Beauty, Marlena Stell from Makeup Geek

Tell is your favourite makeup hack?

When I have a customer with extremely hooded eyes or with lots of wrinkles. I use the Rimelle liquid liner with the extra thin brush. I ask the client to open their eye and look straight. I mark where the eyelid is wide open. this would be the highest point that I can draw the eyeliner on the moving lid.

Advice for makeup artists just starting out?

Watch makeup artists from different countries and those who been to different schools to be able to cater for different tastes. Also always consider a masterclass or an advanced level course. You never stop learning!

  4. BB01 soft blending brush. I use it to achieve the
  5. The short lip brush. I love it because it’s firm and it does not bend. This allows more control and fewer mistakes

What is the one brush you recommend everyone have in their makeup collection?
